In an exciting opening match of the 17-year-old hardball cricket tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Federation, Zahira College Kalmunai emerged victorious by 2 wickets. The match took place against AM / Padiyathalawa National School.

AM / Padiyathalawa National School, opting to bat first, managed to score 150 runs before losing all their wickets in 38.3 overs. Zahira College Kalmunai's team responded with determination, reaching 154 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in just 17.2 overs, thus securing a thrilling win by 2 wickets.

This victory is attributed to the dedicated efforts of Principal MI.
